Levy, di Brooklyn born Nigerian American, don waka comot from third world country come back Brooklyn after sixteen hard years. E go need learn American culture again, and this na di beginning of di misadventures.

The Misadventures of Levy**

**Chapter 1: Levy Return**

Levy na Nigerian-American wey dem born for Brooklyn, New York. But when he reach 8 years, him parents carry am go Naija. For Naija, Levy face serious wahala for 16 years, until he turn 21. Now, Levy don return to Brooklyn, and e be like say he no fit sabi American life again.

Levy dey waka for Brooklyn, dey look everything wey change. “Chai! Na which kin place be this?” he talk as he see people dey waka with big phones and small dogs. Levy try use him old Naija hustle skills, but e be like say no be so dem dey do am for Yankee.

Chapter 2: The Culture Shock

Levy waka enter one coffee shop. He never see this kin place before. “Wetin be ‘latte’?” he ask the barista. The barista just dey look am like say he be alien. “Abeg, give me akamu and akara,” Levy talk. The barista laugh, “We don’t have that here, sir.”

Levy no sabi the way people dey talk, the way dem dey dress, even the way dem dey greet. He call him friend, Tunde, “Guy, abeg show me the ropes. I no sabi Yankee life again.” Tunde just dey laugh, “Levy, you don turn full Naija man. No worry, I go teach you.”

Chapter 3: The Yankee Lessons**

Tunde start to teach Levy the ways of American life. “First, you need to learn how to use a smartphone. No be like that your old Nokia wey you dey use for Naija,” Tunde talk. Levy struggle to understand all the apps and the constant notifications. “This thing dey craze oh,” he complain.

Next, Tunde carry Levy go one supermarket. Levy shock as he see the variety of food. “Wetin be quinoa? And why them get so many kin bread?” he ask. Tunde explain, “Na so we dey do for here. You go get used to am.”

**Chapter 4: The Deadbeat Dad Wahala**

One day, Levy receive letter from child support office. “Wetin be child support?” he ask Tunde. Tunde explain say Levy get pikin for Yankee wey him no sabi about. “You don turn deadbeat dad for their eye,” Tunde talk. Levy shock, “Me? Deadbeat? I no even sabi say I get pikin.”

Levy decide say he go clear him name. He call lawyer wey be him friend, Jerry. Jerry no too serious, he like joke. “Levy, na like film trick. We go fight this case like those courtroom dramas.” Levy nod, but him heart dey fear.

Flashback: Di Origin of di Wahala

Levy dey remember di days when him just land for Yankee. At 21, him hormones dey rage, and di fine fine women for New York catch him eye. Levy dey attend New York Paralegal Institution for Broad Street, Manhattan. Na there him meet one older woman wey sabi night life well well. She don dey go club for ten years, and she decide to show Levy di ropes.

Di Clubs and Di Adventures

Di woman, she sabi all di clubs for Manhattan. Levy dey follow her waka, dey see di city’s nightlife. Meanwhile, for New York Paralegal Institute, Levy dey also apply for BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College) and dem admit am for accounting.

Di Three Musketeers

For BMCC, Levy meet Yomi, wey soon become him best friend. Together with Muyi, di three of dem form di “Nigerian Boogie Analysts,” di three musketeers wey sabi party well well. Dem comb di city, mixing their Nigerian and British style, and dem become popular for di party scene.

Woman Wahala

One night, for one of di hottest clubs for Manhattan, Levy meet one woman(Wahala Woman)She fine, and Levy fall for her quick quick.

But Yomi and Muyi see say the Wahala woman na “waka about “ they no like di girl for Levy. Dem warn am, “Levy, this girl no dey good for you. Make you shine your eye.”

Levy remember the popular song “ if want to marry a husband or wife never you marry a Waka about, no so so trouble trouble and they laughed,

But Levy no hear.

Dem go from club to club, di woman dey always by Levy side. Him friends no fit talk sense into am. Levy dey lost in di nightlife, no sabi say di woman dey plan her own.

Di Result of di Adventures

Fast forward to present day, Levy dey Brooklyn. Him receive letter say him be deadbeat dad. Di woman Levy meet for club that night, na she born di pikin wey him no sabi. Levy dey regret, but him know say he must face di wahala wey him don create.

**Chapter 5: The Legal Drama**

Levy enter court, the place full with lawyers and plenty grammar. “Na wah oh, this place no be for small pikin,” he talk. Jerry try to explain the situation, but Levy head dey turn. “Why all this big English?” he ask. The judge look am, “Mr. Levy, you need to take responsibility.”

Jerry talk, “Your Honour, Levy no be deadbeat. Na bank error cause am. Him account mix up with one millionaire for Wyoming.” The judge shake head, “Mr. Levy, you need to pay what you owe and be part of your child’s life.”

Growing Up in Brooklyn

Levy’s love for di nightlife no be accident. From di age of 5, Levy don dey attend Nigerian parties every weekend. Him mama and papa, Big Levy and Julie, na di socialites of their time for Brooklyn in di 70s. Every Friday and Saturday, dem go party, and dem always carry small Levy along.

As a small pikin, Levy dey center of attraction for these parties. Him parents go dress am in three-piece suits, always dressed to kill. Levy enjoy di attention and di excitement, learning di dance moves from di adults. For school and daycare, Levy dey show off all him moves, even di teachers love am.

Every weekend, Levy go visit him cousin, wey dem born just two weeks apart. Dem two close well well. Levy go show him cousin all di new dance moves and play di different songs he hear for di adult parties. Him cousin dey always in awe of Levy. Levy be di singer, and di cousin go play di record player while Levy show off him talent.

Levy love these moments with him cousin, sharing stories of how he dey showered with money at parties. Unbeknownst to Levy, this same cousin go later become one of di greatest music producers in history. But dat na another story of di dog-eat-dog world.
